Bonnie’s Blog

Good morning and hello from Bonnie at EyeCatchers Photography.

Guess you’d like to know a little about me, well I was born in Portland Oregon but ended up growing up in the hub of Pacific Northwest…Seattle area of course. Adapting to the rain was easy because there is so much beauty to the area and it’s always green. I moved to the Tri-Cities back in 1994, which is considered the panhandle of Washington. It rarely rains and everything is always brown, but if you look you can always find beauty in the low rolling hills with vast fields of agriculture. It is also a premiere place for wine and micro brews, take the tours and enjoy the local flavors of the area.

Well here comes the photography side of things. I met Ian in 2006 and his passion for photography rubbed off on me, and I have become his slow learning apprentice. I was happy with my point and shoot camera and actually could always catch some great pictures, but he introduced me to the technical side of taking pictures, where you control what your picture will turn out to be.  I can say I’d love to set my camera to automatic but have found that manual mode helps you achieve the photograph you want by having controls over natural and studio lighting, depth of field, night time shooting, and other arrays to achieve what YOU want in the image, not what the camera decides for you.

Over the past few years I’ve gone to college to learn about photography and the computer editing part of it. Let me tell you the picture part is easy and the computer part is time consuming, but the end product can be so worth the effort. So follow along with me on my journey through photography and learn as I do about the passion it gives you and the end results that fill my heart with a certain amount of confidence and achievement.

Hope you enjoy my journey…

Life is a line with a beginning and an end, Love is a circle with neither, may I turn the world circular on my journey as I pass through lines. b’06
